The First Stage Of Periodontal Disease Is Damaging To Dental Health

The disorder of the gums and the jawbone points out to periodontal disease. Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease which is a gum inflammation causing gums to appear red, shiny and become soft and bleed easily, specially when the teeth are brushed. The primary cause of gingivitis periodontal disease is the accumulation of plaque that attracts oral bacteria and cause destruction to the tissues of the gums. The lack of proper nutrients and too many soft foods in the diet can also cause gingivitis. Left without any treatment, abscesses are caused by bacteria to become present and even cause pockets to be formed, making way for teeth to be pulling away from the gums. Eventually, there is a progression of the damage to the bone softening it and weakens the teeth's support.
